1. The disc of the Wafer Type Butterfly Valve is mounted in the direction of the pipe diameter and is sandwiched between the two flanges of the pipe. It meets most flange standards. The butterfly valve is sealed by a rubber or EPDM seat, forming a very strong seal at the valve and flange connection.
2. In the cylindrical channel of the butterfly valve body, the disc-like disk rotates around the shaft and the rotation angle is between 0° and 90°, which can play the role of regulating the flow. When the disc rotates to 90°, the valve reaches the maximum opening.
3. Wafer Type Butterfly Valve is simple in structure, small in size, and light in weight, and consists of only a few parts. Moreover, it can be opened and closed quickly by just rotating 90°, easy to operate, and the valve has good fluid control characteristics.
4. Butterfly valves have two sealing methods, resilient soft seal and metal seal. For resilient soft seal valves, the seal can be set in the valve body or attached to the butterfly plate perimeter.
5.Unlike the lug-type butterfly valve, the Wafer Type Butterfly Valve cannot be used as an end of pipe or end of line service. If any side of the valve needs to be serviced, the entire pipeline must be closed.
