Rising Stem Gate Valve’s opening and closing member is the gate, the direction of movement of the gate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, the bright stem gate valve can only be fully open and fully closed, can not be used for regulation and throttling.
When the Rising Stem Gate Valve is closed, the sealing surface can only rely on the medium pressure to seal, that is, only rely on the medium pressure to press the sealing surface of the gate to the other side of the valve seat to ensure the sealing surface of the seal, which is self-sealing. Most of the gate valves are forced to seal, that is, when the valve is closed, rely on external force to force the gate to the seat, to ensure the sealing surface of the seal.
Installation Precautions:
When installing, the valve stem needs to face upwards, leaving enough space for the valve stem. Always keep the valve stem lubricated to prevent rust and facilitate opening and closing of the valve.
Advantages:
Fluid resistance is small, the sealing surface by the media erosion and erosion of small. Thread rotation, opening, and closing less effort. Media flow direction is not restricted, no disturbance, no pressure reduction.
Disadvantages:
Between the sealing surface is easy to cause erosion and abrasion, maintenance is difficult. Gate valve shape size is large, open need a certain space, open and close a long time.
